Day 39

Although I was aiming to wash my hair once a week, I washed midweek. On Wednesday night I did a wash that took longer than expected with mist of my time spent on part 4&5.

Anyway, it was for the best ad my hair looked and felt great on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday, i started my day with an ACV rinse, which I left on for about thirty minutes.  It was followed with a 1 hour cowash and then a 1 hour mud treatment.

My hair feels good and I like the way it looks -

I'm going to wash my hair again on Thursday, preferably in the morning. In fact, I'll mix my protein mix on Tuesday/Wednesday evening and put it on for about 3 hours on Wednesday and then sleep with conditioner to then finish everything else on Thursday morning.

I can't believe how much my hair has changed since I started the method and I hope it continues to thrive.

day 37

It was over a week between washes.

I started the process on friday night - acv rinse then deep con treatment. I slept with conditioner overnight and in the morning I rinsed and put on my clay mix. I left it on for about 9 hours then finished steps 4 & 5.

I then put my hair in braids and slept with a showercap which I left on for the whole sunday till monday morning.

Today, my hair looks great and feels lovely. Here are a few pics and I'll add more later tonight.

day 36: best hair EVER!

So, I did a cherry lola for about 1.5 hours followed by an hour of KCKT and then about 2 hours of a funky clay mix. It contained European clay powder, which is montmorillonite but green, a little of my brown montmorilonite and left over bentonite I noticed that my hair liked the mix aa lot. When I finally finished all the steps I took the time to separate my hair into avout 11 sections. By the time that was done, my hair was beginning to dry so I used my flat mate's spray bottle and taking each section, I sprayed and separates into 2, applied diluted conditioner and then full strength gel.

My hair seemed to have better curl definition and hang. Also doing such small sections enabled me to thoroughly detangle. I just watched movies while doing my hair and i likely spent about 3 hours.

This morning, my hair looks phenomenal!

I went out and it dried about 99% by the end of the day.

At bedtime, I sectioned my hair into twists and pinned each section down with pins and clips. Then I put on my vented shower cap and a scarf and went to bed.

I awoke to find my hair very moist, and the curls still had some stretch to them.
2nd day hair in the morning.

My hair dried very quickly, just sitting in my room.

For Tuesday night, I plan on doing the danabnatural quick method and I hope I am able to get similar results with my hair.

1 week post

Ooookay, I went a week without washing my hair.

Here are a few pictures -

My Observations:

My hair managed to do a good job but by Thursday, I could feel some frizz developing. That just means my hair still needs a midweek touch up. On Wednesday night, I did sleep with a shower cap to up my moisture level. I gave my hair a little diluted conditioner before putting on the shower cap.

I think my new midweek touch up will happen on Tuesday nights and it'll just be a quick process. I think ill adopt Danabnatural's quick method.

Step 1. Wet hair

Step 2.
Clay rinse

Step 3. Baking soda rinse

Step 4.
Apply conditioner on sopping wet hair under shower. Slide off access conditioner with hands to avoid residue

Step 5. Apply gel on sopping wet hair and keep hair wet. Shake. Or apply an gel or oil and set into style.

Day 35

Wash day!

Didn't have as much time today and finished hair in about 2 hours to great results. I used white vinegar, cowash for 45 minutes, clay for 45 and then completed steps 4 & 5 in 15 minutes flat!

Here's what hair looked like before -

And here's what it looked like after I washed it -

I went out to the movie theater to watch an independent film Omar (very, very good).

Since my hair was still a little wet (around crown) when I got home, I wore a shower cap to bed.

I woke with wet hair and it struggled to dry over the course of the day. But by evening, it looked like this -

Day 34: 4 day hair

I'm noticing more single strand nites on 3rd day hair with this cycle and my shedding seems high right now. Still people keep asking ne what I do to my hair so they can do it too.

Nevertheless, here's what my hair looks like this morning -

I plan on washing today, however, so that'll allow me to finger comb and address as many SSKs as possible.

day 34: consistent results

THe only thing different is that my shrinkage is major. I clarified with bs mix last night for about 45 minutes. I then put conditioner on overnight and then used a clqy mask for over 3 hours. I followed with diluted conditioner and diluted gel.

Wonder if the dilured gel constributes to my shrinkage.

Day 33: 3rd day hair

First thing in the morning -

Hair in the evening

I got numerous complimets on my hair today and one person took notes while I explained MHM to her, lol!

All I did to my hair this morning was to wet my fingers and run it through my hair. It loved the extra moisture.

Day 33: using bentonite clay

Yes, I'm on cycle 33!

I started last night by putting my cherry lola mix in my hair. It didn't have avocado or bananas and I used white vinegar. It was in my hair for just over two hours and then I followed up with KCKT, which I left on over night.

Here is a pic of my hair with the protein treatment -

Once I rinsed out the conditioner, I applied bentonite clay. It was a thick consistency, despite the water added and I even added more water to ensure that it smoothed out properly. I immediately noticed that my curls popped like crazy. I also noticed more hang time. I applied the clay in sections, then went back to ensure that I smoothed it in adequately. I passed over my hair a third time with wet fingers just to give the hair some moisture before I put on a shower cap.

I had the clay in for 5 hours. Below is a pic of my hair with bentonite clay in it -

Here is my product-free hair once the clay was washed out -

My observations of bentonite clay are that it is better at creating coils, giving some hang time and much less messy! I'm thinking I will find a way to mix calcium motmorilonite and bentonite together so as to use up the former clay.

As my hair began to dry, normal shrinkage kicked in. Still, my curls look good and I will try bentonite again on Wednesday/Thursday. Hopefully, my benefits from the clay, plus overnight conditioning, will accumulate.

Day 32: much better hair

I've found that my hair hasn't been the same since I used the tresemme naturals. At least until today. On Tuesday night, I commenced cycle 32 by rinsing with BS and then sleeping over night with KCKT.

The next morning, I did a clay treatment that I left on for over 2 hours b efore I then rinsed it out and proceeded with steps 4 and 5.

The latter steps took over an hour to do as I detangled thoroughly. I put my hair in plaits and left it for the entire day. This morning,  my hair is soft and curly. Its also a little stretched but not too much. I think I want to try rachelcprs stretching/wrapping technique sometime soon. Possibly next weekend.

This coning weekend, I'm going to do a protein treatment.  However, I won't include bananas or avocado as I don't have a mixer to ensure that the mix is made clump-free.

Here are some pics of my cycle 32 hair -

day 31:

Today is Saturday and I'm about to wash my hair.

I used the tresemme naturals on tuesday afternoon and if I'm to be honest, my hair didn't have its typical moisture and curls.

Since being in Trinidad, I've done my hair once, on thursday night.  I didn't leave the clay in as it was too runny but the condutioner was on for almost 30 minutes. I also used white vinegar instead of ACV cos the latter is hard to find.

Here's my plan for today, rinse with vinegar,  leave con in for 30 minutes, then put clay in for 1-2 hours and complete steps 4-5.

Here  are pics of my hair pre-wash -
Hair is alright not great.

Here is what my hair looked like at first when I took my hair out of plaits

frizz city!

Here is what it looked like post-wash before steps 4 and 5 (product-free hair):

I noticed that my ends felt fuzzy, and not as crisp and defined as I am used to having them. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the vinegar I now use or if  it is tied to using tresemme naturals. Can't believe how muh my hair does not like it. What a set back.

Will likely do my hair on Monday or Tuesday. Trying to get as many tries in before school commences.

MHM day 30

Did my hair on thursday evening and put it in plaits. The next day, it looked like this -

Day 27: 3rd day hair

Washed my hair on Thursday and put it in plaits in the evening. Since I was home all day Friday, I didn't bother to take out the plaits. I opted to undo them today though, so my DD could take a picture and here is what it looks like -

Looks good!

Although my plan was to do a few more washes, I think I'll aim for two more before I travel on Wednesday. I want to have some clay for when I get to Trinidad and I also just want to take a bit of a break between now and my flight.

MHM Day 26

So I'm actually on cycle 26 and not 25 as I thought. Thank God I've been keeping track so I was able to realize my mistake.

Anyway, yesterday was another beach day and as usual, I ACVed and DCed on the way home. The con was In my hair for over 2 hours. I made dinner and then rinsed out the con and put clay in my hair in small sections. I then put each section into a Bantu knot and wore a shower cap to work out.

I rinsed out thoroughly, making sure not to leave clay in at the front as I had the previous cycle and then finished up with steps 4 & 5. I put my hair in plaits and slept.

My hair after a full day running around in town with the kids.

Second-day hair. Not too bad.

I noticed that my hair dried relatively quickly while running around in Roseau. Not sure if it was because I squeezed out excess liquid after applying the gel the night before, or because that town is super hot!

I need to do my hair 4 more times between now and the 10th to get to 30 cycles by the time I land in Trinidad. I think I'll do my hair tonight or tomorrow (Thursday), on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Hopefully.

3rd Day Hair

Not too bad. Going to get my hair done later today though.

MHM Day 24

I slept with clay in my hair!

Okay, I had to. I had gone to the beach around 4pm and didn't get home until after 7pm. As is my usual beach routine, after frolicking, I did an ACV rinse, then put conditioner in my hair. It was in for about 2hours.

After feeding the kids, and myself, and then washed out conditioner from my hair and took my time applying the clay. I had it in for 3 hours while I worked out but, I was too tired to start washing it out, so instead, I had a bath, put on an additional shower cap and my scarf and then went to bed.

This morning, my hair shed a lot more than usual when I was applying my leave in and gel.

Not sure if this is because I didn't wash out the salt water from my hair enough. Anyway, I do not plan to sleep with clay again, save for an emergency. And if I do, I'll use full-strength conditioner for stage 4.

Sadly, no pics of my hair as my phone is acting up. *sob*(Got my DD to take pics with the ipad mini. Not great quality, but it'll have to do for keeping track of my hair's progress.)

I definitely like the way my hair looks.

Yay!

Day 23: 2nd day hair

Did my hair yesterday and finished last night. As such, my hair was nice and wet in the morning.  It didn't hurt that I wore a shower cap to bed.

Here are pics of my hair the night before (freshly washed) and the next morning (after taking out my braids). I managed to destroy my phone's screen and couldn't take pics of my hair at night.
